The Venus Optics Laowa 11mm f / 4.5 FF RL is a compact wide-angle (rectalinear) lens designed for full-frame mirrorless cameras with a Leica M mount. Stunning optics, well-corrected distortion and chromatic aberration make it an ideal lens for landscapes and indoor photographers.

The heart of the lens consists of 14 optical elements arranged in 10 groups. Two aspherical lenses and two ultra-low dispersion lenses reduce chromatic aberration and distortion to a minimum. On stopping down the 5-blade diaphragm you will get the effect of aesthetic and well-defined 10-point "stars". They appear in the photo in place of the sun or other light sources, such as street lamps, car headlights or Christmas tree lights. The image generated by the lens is full of details, colors and contrasts. The extraordinary viewing angle of 126 ° allows you to capture a huge space in the picture. Breathtaking panoramas of cities and beautiful landscapes are open to you.

The lens is characterized by an extremely short focusing distance of 19 cm (measured from the photographed object to the camera sensor). This creates unconventional opportunities in macro photography when creating multi-plane frames with a unique perspective.

Manual focusing with this lens is pure pleasure. The ring works flawlessly and with noticeable resistance. The lens has a distance scale expressed in meters and feet. After reaching a distance of 0.7 m, we will feel a click reminding us of the shortest distance of correct focusing when using a rangefinder for the Leica M system.

We set the aperture with a separate ring. We will feel a clear click for the total values, but nothing prevents you from smoothly setting this parameter to intermediate values.

Despite the ultra-wide focal length, the lens has a traditional 62 mm wide circular filter thread. It is a very practical and convenient solution. The second method that allows the installation of rectangular filters with a width of 100 mm is a special, magnetic holder.
