The YN-862 is the first Yongnuo lamp equipped with the Master 560-TX Pro hybrid transmitter, which allows you to control simple lamps with a 602/603 receiver and those advanced with a 622 receiver. The other distinguishing feature of the YN-862 is its power supply. The lamp is equipped with a dedicated lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 1800 mAh.
Compared to other devices with similar specifications, the YN-862 has a standard guide number of GN60. In mode M, it works in the range of 1/1 to 1/128 of power in 29 adjustment steps. The TTL auto flash mode allows compensation in the +/- 3 EV range. The flash has three flash synchronization modes: for the first curtain, second and HSS (up to 1/8000 s.). With this specification, the YN-862 is an interesting proposition for strobists working in variable lighting conditions.
Wireless communication with lamps and triggers is provided by the innovative Yongnuo 560-TX Pro system, which is a hybrid of solutions from RF 602/603 and 622 transmitters. Thanks to this solution, it is possible to use manual YN-560 III / IV lamps together with advanced lamps such as YN-685. The flash in master mode allows you to control and manage 5 groups of flash in flash modes M and TTL. In addition to the built-in 2.4 GHz trigger, the YN-862 allows you to work in 4 groups as part of Canon Speedlite optical communication, as well as in two classic photocell modes.
The lamp head offers an extremely wide range of motion, which makes it easy to quickly set the torch in the desired direction. The automatic (and manual) zoom of the lamp, diffuser and reflector allow for creative selection of lighting for the selected scene. A clear LCD with backlight ensures comfort of use. Large, comfortable buttons allow you to operate the lamp even when wearing gloves.
Yongnuo YN-862 is powered by a dedicated 11.1V lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 1800 mAh. This specification allows you to make up to 700 flashes at full power on a single charge. The lamp has a Micro USB port for software updates and a PC socket. Along with the lamp, the kit includes a cover, battery charger and lamp stand with 1/4" thread.
