YN-500EX Speedlite designed for Canon
The YongNuo 500EX can work on cameras with E-TTL, E-TTL II systems, and in wireless mode Speedlite - Canon and CLS (Creative Lighting System) Nikon systems. YN-500EX is equipped with HSS (High Speed Sync) and FP (Focal Plane) mode, what allows to synchronize flash in short shutter times, up to 1/8000 s. Owing to wireless work mode it is possible to full auto exposure control in Canon system, and full manual control in Canon and Nikon systems.

The YongNuo 500EX in Slave mode can work with for ex. with Canon 580EX II flash, ST-E2 or YN-ST-E2 transmitters, cameras work in Speedlite systems and SB-900/800/700 flashes of Nikon system, and cameras with CLS system.
It is possible to control lamp settings from Canon cameras with E-TTL, E-TTL II modes. The menu allows to control lamp parameters like: work modes, flash power, flash synchronization, flash correction, zoom, wireless mode settings, advanced settings.

These functions allows to use for ex. two lamps YN-500EX in full auto TTL, E-TTL, E-TTL II modes with flash correction in A:B configuration. If you have Canon camera with controlling of C group it is possible to use A:B C configuration, with independent C group which can be udes as complementary light.
The YongNuo 500EX has built-in photocell, so can be triggered by other lamp flash in S1 mode. In S2 mode has pre-flashes omitting function, so could be triggered by cameras with no possibility of turn off preflashes.

The YongNuo 500EX has high guide number 53GN with ISO 100 allows to reach good photos even in poor light conditions. Also it has AF-assist beam what helps to set focus in dark scenes. Head can be rotated horizontally and vertically. Head has also auto and manual zoom 24-105mm, and foldable deflector and diffuser.
Readable and clear LCD panel with backlight shows all current parameter settings. Additionally the lamp has sound prompt system.
Power adjusting range is from 1/1 to 1/64 with fine tune by 1/2 or 1/3 eV.

The YongNuo 500EX has PC connection for synchronization with camera by wire.
