The technology of production of polarizing filters is known in essence since the thirties of the nineteenth century. So it is nothing new, but production still is not easy and requires advanced tools.  MRC (Multi-Resistant Coating) series filters are multilayer-coated anti enhancing the capacity of optical glass, which is made of a filter.
